Got back from the UK yesterday to find a copy of Shock Cinema magazine waiting for me and better still, a great review for MindFlesh. Just to cherry pick a couple of juicy quotes from thre review:
"..hooks the viewer in the opening minutes and keeps us off-kilter throughout"
"..Pratten pulls it off with skill and intelligene"
"..gorgeously crafted, laced with disorienting visuals and elegantly degranged."
One of the cool things I'd been looking forward to playing with back in the UK was the BBC iPlayer. Access is blocked outside the UK which is a pain. Especially as I've paid for a TV licence - I think I ought to be able to setup an account and log in from overseas. After all, it's not as if I can't get around watching British TV while located elsewhere with my Slingbox - which is still working well and I still can't believe it allows me to change the channels :)
Well, the iPlayer is very cool and didn't disappoint. I was also able to download a stack of shows and transfer them to play on my Archos for the flight home (and beyond). I still have some questions about whether taxpayer money should be used for the development of technology platforms but given that this is far superior to the dreadful ITV player, I'll forgive them.
